Situated in the heart of St. Andrews, Forgan’s restaurant was born through the idea of a certain kind of Scottish hospitality. Through the ages, hillwalkers, visitors and travellers have found refuge, comfort and company in rural “Bothies”, a type of small building or shed, left open and available for passers-by to use as they wish. We loved this idea of sharing and accessible cosiness, so we decided Forgan’s should work on the exact same ethos. We even took it a step further and installed 4 standalone private Bothies for drinking and dining, all with a focus on being just as welcoming as a real life bothy.
It’s a space for living in and loving, so there won’t ever be any charge for booking a private Bothy, whether you are looking for a morning meeting spot, or a place by the fire to get the family together for a good old-fashioned celebration.
Our four private Bothies each have their own unique character and can be used alone or combined to make a larger semi-private space. Each one sits between 8 and 12 people, and they can be combined for conferences and semi-private dining for up to 50 people.
For the comfort of your guests, we’d like to suggest the arrangement of a drinks package for arrival. These allow your guests to have a glass of prosecco/wine and/or a bottle of beer in hand as soon as they sit down. What’s better than that? Additionally, for a Scottish treat our Scotch whisky and Gin flights are a great starter for any meal.

This space is perfect for larger parties, with leather chairs, solid wood furniture and folding glass walls. A roomier area, it can comfortably fit up to 35 people.
